Fairy Tail had overall better art quality/fight visuals, but that's about it Everything else about Fairy Tail was a downgrade from Rave Master I think Fairy Tail was a lot more successful because it appealed to the least common denominator a lot more (the typical entry level anime/manga consumer), and that meant more $$$Drawing and art fairy tail Rave Master is Hiro Mashima's work before Fairy Tail, therefore he already has better experience in Fairy Tail rather than Rave Master Fairy Tail's background and character costume are better than Rave Master The only 1 thing I disagree with is Fairy Tail's excessive fan service close statementThe rest of the Rave Master cast (Musica, Jet and Julia) never got to meet the Fairy Tail characters in the Omake In the OVA, they do so and cooperate to defeat Klodoa's minions Trivia This is Julia's official anime début as a human, as the Rave Master anime never reached the point in which she appeared;
